I'm hoping someone can help me. I seem to have very deep black heads which seem to be all over my entire face, more on my chin and forehead. I used to get big under the skin spots as well but since changing my skin care routine they have stopped. I now use kiehls rare earth cleanser and toner as well as a day cream with SPF from them and a line concentrate serum. I use pore vacuum masks weekly as well as a facial steamer. That or I will just use a clean wash cloth to steam my face before cleansing. I also change my pillowcase every night and bed covers once a week.. I eat pretty healthy and always drink enough water. I'm 24 and have a birth controls implant in my arm which I do think is to blame as before I got it I never had a problem with my skin. I'm sorry to keep on but it really feels like a mystery to me. I can't even wear makeup or bb cream without seeing fresh black heads. So if anyone has any suggestions of products or dealt with a similar situation I would love to hear from you. Thanks for reading.

I'm 23 and have the implanon birth control too but I havent seen an increase in black heads. you can try exfoliaten and use a cleanser with salicylic acid to clear em up. also if you don't get your answer, you can ask Traci, shell know for sure :) good luck.

Well if you've noticed these changes after the birth control, then you're probably spot on with thinking that it's to blame. I'm personally on the Depo shot & it screws around with my skin pretty badly for the week before I'm due for my next shot & the week after getting it :s
maybe talk to your doctor abut what you're experiencing & he can tweek your dosage a little to stop the blackheads from forming. clay masks are also super helpful too because they attract dirt & grime out of the pores towards the surface. I really like the Mask of Magnaminty from Lush! it helps a lot when I notice that I'm breaking out.

Thanks for getting back to me guys! I'm on my last year of the implant so getting it out soon thankfully! the Kiehls rare earth stuff is clay based and the daily cleanser is pretty scruby.. Mask of Magnaminty from lush I have tried as well as a few others but they all made my skin feel tight and dry :( I have also used the biore range with salicylic acid but I found it wasnt doing too much except bring out some fine lines from being dry. Just need something to get it under control :)

@Samantha, maybe the Black Illuminizing peel-off mask by Boscia will work better for you. it's a little on the pricey side ($44 for me in Canada), but absolutely worth it! it too draws out dirt from the pores, & also leaves your akin glowing! I didn't find at all that it left my skin dry or tight feeling like the Lush mask kind of can. I would definitely try it out (:
