I have PCOS and terrible acne on my jaw and under my chin with lovely little patches of hair on my chin, upper lip, and sides of my face. I have used Sally Hanson hair removal creme before and that badly burnt my upper lip. What are your favorite items to get rid of acne and hair?

Anybody can answer, I included pcos so I could maybe get answers from someone going through the same thing as me.

Go to acne.org and buy the free kit of the regimen! Give it a try! It works sooooo well.

Hair removal creams don't really work for me, neither does waxing (at least not at home)... The only thing that works for me is pulling the hair out with tweezers or with one of those metal springs that you twist while you move over the hair. Maybe you can find one of those? It hurts a little but it doesn't cause any irritation other than redness.

What kind of wax do you use? And what brand?

What is the hair like that you get? I get random black hairs on my face and neck.. Is that a symptom of pcos?

Sam usually I just use tweezers but I do have wax from Sally's that I put in the mircowave and it just hardens on it's own. I'm not sure the brand.

Brandy I have really bad patches in my chin and upper lip but on the sides I have random dark hairs on my lower jaw area. If you have an irregular period, are overweight, and if you get thick facial hair I think you need to go to a doctor to figure that out.

Hmm maybe if you invest in a small wax warmer I have one by Gigi honee and you can buy the wax separate, most of the waxes I've tried by that brand seem to work really well on stubborn hairs.

Have you thought of trying a facial epilator? If you're already tweezing this would take it to the next level and get the job done faster. I think there is a sale going on at hautelook for epilady brand. ends sunday 8 am PST.

The acne, the unwanted facial hair is a side effect of unmanaged pcos...are you currently on any meds for the pcos? coz I've seen that as soon as your periods start to regularize these side effects start to disappear..
try to see a doctor if your not seeing one already. pcos related acne/facial hair/weight gain is not something to just wait it out and see.

I have the exact same problems, Sarah. I have struggled with acne for years, and have yet to clear up my skin. However, after trying SO many acne products, I can tell you that the one I've been consistently using for months isn't even an acne product, per-say. It's called Advanced Night Repair by Estée Lauder, and it repairs your skin cells, and therefore it has helped my acne some. It hasn't really stopped my breakouts yet, but it has improved my acne scars/repeating acne areas. A lot of the acne products I've used before do get rid of pimples, but are sooo drying. The advanced night repair, since it isn't really an acne product, actually hydrates my skin without clogging my pores. My suggestion for you is to get a sample of it and try it out.

On the hair, I have it in the exact same places, as well as other places. I've tried waxing also, but it's very painful. My hair grows so so fast, especially on my legs, so I've actually gotten laser hair removal on part of my legs. For my face area, I used a mini electric razor I got from amazon (yes, I said razor). Several of my doctors have assured me that it's perfectly safe, and that no, it doesn't grow back faster if you use a razor.

Theses are my experiences, and I haven't been "officially" diagnosed with PCOS, but they think that I probably have it. I hope this helped!
