Concealer has more coverage normally. You might need two different shades to mix based on the season. And maybe two different formulas for blemishes and under the eyes. I prefer a peach creamy concealer to counteract the blue in my dark circles. For blemishes, like
Harlyn said, you need an exact match. To answer your main question, you don't need foundation, I never use it. But you can still get a flawless finish with just concealer, with pinpoint concealing.

Yea it is! But make sure it matches your skin tone.A concealer will hide your blemishes,dark circles etc.I don't think its thicker than foundation,there are liquid ones too.It just has more coverage than foundation.There are sheer,medium and full coverage concealer depending on your need!

It's okay to use concealer alone. But make sure you get the right shade. If it is under your eyes then your can get a shade that is your tone or either a little bit lighter o give you a highlight effect but just make sure to blend really good
