Can I just say.. Your baby is so cute! I can't get over it ❤️

Anyway back to the question.. If your hair is as dark as it is in your pics then yes you may need to go more than once if you want to keep your hair healthy. You could bleach it with a higher vol and reach a light colour but it will damage your hair. The healthier way to go is to go gradually. Getting a fully head of highlights either 2/3 times will get you lighter.

Out of personal experience, I was a dark brown (coloured) and I wanted to be blonde. I went to the hair dressers and asked for a full head of highlights.. And of course I got it done BUT I was SOOO disappointed with the results that the hairdresser gave me. She did a terrible job!!

The second time I went to a completely different hairdresser and asked for another full head of highlights and OMG she did an amazing job and got me to a beautiful blonde!!

So on that note, make sure you choose a GOOD hairdresser with a GREAT reputation! I was an extra $100 to see this hairdressers but I'm so happy I did. ($255 total at that hairdresser).

When you get highlights, you will need toner as well, to take out the yellow and unwanted other colours.

So please please please choose a good hairdresser and even google the reviews on hairdressers in your area and see other people opinions. It's COMPLETELY worth the extra money when you get a good job done :) I paid $125 the first time and $255 the second time... A big ouchy to my purse but I'm over the moon with my final results :)

A bit extra information:

I had 10vol used on the first 5-10 cm of my hair (roots) and then 20v used on the rest of my hair (length). I was at the hairdressers for 5 hours which involved 1.5 hours of actually putting all the foils in, 30 mins of washing out all together, 10 mins of toner and 10 mins of treatment. And of course the rest of the time was spent letting the bleaching products work their magic in my hair.

She put a low amount of bleach in so that my hair didn't get damaged and my hair feels amazing!! It didn't damage it really at all! (I had healthy hair before hand though).

Don't wash your hair for 3 days before hand, this allows for the oils in your hair to protect your scalp.
