Hey y'all, I wanted to talk about cream or stick eyeshadows. I'm finding myself reaching for them more and more, of late, and I was wondering if you all happen to have favorite brands or colors, and if you have some experiences with them that you'd like to share, and basically anything you think I should know :) hope you all are having a wonderful day!

I've never really been into them but I recently picked up one of the Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleons and I'm a convert! They are really pigmented and last for ages, plus the colours are beautiful. I have bronzed garnet and I'm already considering going back for the champagne colour and the purple.
If you can get your hands on them in person or don't mind paying for shipping, I would highly recommend them.

Oooh I have a sick obsession with Charlotte Tilbury, also. May have to look at Selfridges website for those.
Harlyn, it's no big deal. Good is good. I have a couple color tattoos and I like em. That navy is bomb :)

I do too! I always have to look at the counter when I'm in Selfridges, got so excited when it came out. The eye products are amazing once they're on they do not budge. Can't vouch for the other products but the eye stuff is definitely the highest quality stuff I own, definitely worth the price tag.
If you're going to buy from Selfridges I'd advise buying in bulk as I hear the shipping is quite expensive.

Shipping is flat rate from Selfridges around the world, so it doesn't matter how much I spend really...but yes I understand.

Really?? Hmm, I haven't had that problem yet. You may want to check out the Buxom Stay There cream shadows, they're a bit more expensive but they have awesome colors and they blend together like a dream :)
Jul 18, 2014
Hannah K.
Oy, that's rough. Buxom is an all natural brand, though, and RMS makes cream shadows sold on here that are also all natural :) maybe try those if you're looking?

I bought 2 Calvin Kleins ones two days ago, they're really nice, you only need the tiniest bit and they have good pigmentation even though they're sheer. I can swatch them for you although I'm not too sure if the cream coloured one will show up on camera.

I'd love to see swatches! From Ulta?

It's like a combination of Sephora and the makeup section of Target :) sort of like Shoppers, if I'm remembering right.

The purple one is the only one I wouldn't recommend, way too waxy too apply to your eyelid.

Oh, those are pretty Caitriona! I think CK are the only ones we have stateside though.

Hmm sorry about that, didn't meant to taunt you haha.

I really like the nyx jumbo eye pencils. They have great staying power and have some really nice metallic shades.

I got a sample of the bare minerals bb cream eyeshadow in my ipsy bag and I really like it. It sets quickly to a powder-like finish, and is pretty alone, or with a shadow on top. The color they gave me is close to my skin tone, so its really good for natural looks and for work.

Hannah K.
Really Shiro?? I hate those! They creased like crazy on me, they lasted like 30 minutes and then turned into a greasy mess.
Jul 18, 2014
Hannah K.
I'll have to look at that, Brandy, I've never heard of if!

My mother loves the Mally eyeshadow pencils. I've tried them and they're great; pigmented, smooth, and budge proof. Great bases or to use on their own.

Hannah K.
Oooh I'll have to look for those too, I've never used Mally products.

I never bought them but I remember a makeup artist at Ulta tried the Benefit cream eye shadow and my goodness I loved it!!

Hannah K.
Good to know, I've never been interested in Benefit's stuff but I'll check!
