I got my nose pierced Tuesday, and I woke up this morning to a tiny red bump next to it. I've been cleaning it with a saline solution and a piercing after care lotion. It was extremely tender last night while I was sleeping and when I woke up and looked at it, a very tiny red bump (like a small red dot) had appeared, and it was accompanied by redness around the piercing. I've cleaned it, and boiled water and salt and let that cool before using it to clean my nose with q-tips and holding a wet paper towel on it. I've also tried soaking my nose, but I found I got more water up my nose than on it. I really need help! Is it a keloid? An infection? How can I get rid of it?

A granumola is very common and it starts out red but with start to grow into a bump, I wrote about it yesterday in that pic, I've been doing extensive research on it for months as well, have any questions just let me know :)

Yes! Tea tree oil is great for it! I haven't done it personally but I've read others reviews for piercing and granumola treatment, and probably because the piercing is so new that's most likely why it's red, I've had mine for 3 months and that still happens, or it could just be the treatments bothering the skin that's making it red. Also having a granumola does not mean the piercing is infected.

Alright, thank you. I'll keep using salt water on it for now, and try out tea tree oil. I assumed the redness and tenderness might be because its new, but when I saw the tiny bump I wanted to ask someone to be sure. Thanks!(:

Your welcome :) I suggest keeping up with your salt treatments but before bed crushing aspirin and adding water to make a paste and leave that on the piercing for the night, that helped me a lot.

Oh that sounds helpful! I've heard of people doing that to acne also, to take out the redness and soothe it. Thank you!(:
