I've used it when I had extremely oily skin and blackheads that I could never get rid of. It worked great for me. I used it for about six months however it made my skin very dry so make sure to moisturise and use spf because your skin will be very sensitive. I don't use it anymore as my skin is on the drier combo side now! but give it a go and talk to your doctor about it too :)

Differin or Adapalene is a retinoid, its a Vitamin A derivative. I was on 0.1 percent Differin plus Clindamycin gel for mild acne, comedones for about 6 months. While it did clear up my acne, it is a treatment that makes your skin awfully sensitive, like the other girls said. It should only be applied under prescription for your safety. And the usual method of administration involves testing the skin with a couple milder acne medication like 2.5 percent Benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid gels and if those stop working, they move to Differin. There's tonnes of precautions like the mentioned ones, wear atleast spf 30, use a non comedogenic heavy moisturiser preferably hyaluronic acid ones, do not wax the area where you use differin etc. Your safest bet would be to see a doctor.

I was able to use Differin on my super sensitive skin too, but my dermatologist prepped me well. I started applying spf 50+ three weeks before starting using Differin, because, I had a cheek burn due to 50 seconds of sun exposure with Retin A. So I cannot insist on seeing the doctor first enough.
