Staples in your clothing collection?

I haven't really cared much about my style in the past but since this is my first year in university I want to look a little more put together and a little more stylish.
could you guys give me some ideas on how to look put together and some ideas on key items in your wardrobe that are versatile?

-A good pair of colored denim in a neutral color and a bright color
- a neutral or dark cardigan
- a black or burgundy skater skirt
- a casual skater dress

Basically my clothes consist of 4 colors. Black, white, grey, and Burgundy
Pants (Jogger pants, jeans, shorts etc)- Black
Shirts- Black, white, grey, Burgundy
Cardigans- Black, white, grey, Burgundy
And occasionally a graphic tee or floral kimono to add more color or diversity to my other wise boring attire

Kimono cardigans are big right now, and they look lovely paired with skater skirts, leggings, jeans and shorts - they go with pretty much everything. They're not too pricey and you can get them in all sorts of colours and patterns<3.

-Cardigan is a must
-Statement pieces
-plain tank tops to spice it up
-ankle boots
-anddd an LRD, I prefer a 'little red dress ' for the partaays and to look like you are a fashionista!! <3
