I've always had dry skin but it has recently started to bother me... A LOT. I always have to apply lotion after I wash my face and even before I put on foundation, concealer, etc. But ever since summer started, every time I put on makeup, my face is so dry I could literally peel my skin. I even put layers and layers of lotion before I apply makeup to my face and it does nothing. I've been using the same foundation and everything and now it seems to make my skin peel. I apply zit cream at night, but now I don't so much because of all this. So now it's even worse because I have acne AND dry skin. I'm going to a concert on Wednesday, so is there a way I can fix this before then? I don't know if it's just because of the summer weather, but this is really stressing me out.

Have you been to the doctor about it? I've always had extremely oily skin but since Feb this year I've developed bad dry skin on my face in patches so my doctor gave me lots of lotions and creams and its keeping it under control!

I have been to the doctor, but they always talked about my acne and not my dry skin :(

It could maybe be that you're not drinking enough water, or eating right. When I had my weird school schedule and was obsessed with my image I started getting like a lot of pimples on my face and my skin was always like really dry all over my body and started getting worse dark circles than I already had and some kind of dark colored spots all overr.

Switch up your moisturizer temporarily. Alot of the times, out ski gets used to a product, that it doesn't perform its best anymore. If you introduce it to a me product, it'll make theist our of it. When it seems the get used to that, switch it up to your old one again. My favourite is cetaphil tub cream!

Also 2 times a week and no more, exfoliate your skin. This diy scrub/mask has saved my eczemic skin from not only dryness because it removed all he dead skin cells like no other and it really eliminated acne for myself and many others who uses it. This is the recipe:
-3 tsp green tea
-1 tsp ORGANIC apple cider vinegar
-6~8 tsp white sugar
(after you washed your face and maybe even steamed it which is even better, apply this scrub/mask generously all over your face or even your body. Scrub for 1 minute and let it sit on your skin for 5~10 minutes. Your eyes might have the most slightest burning sensation because of the magical ingredient, apple cider vinegar, but its not as bad as it sounds. You can just close your eyes and relax. Then, when times up and if your scrub/mask has dried on your face while you were waiting, spray some water on your face and start exfoliating again in small circular motions. Its better to scrub your skin for longer time and gently than for a shorter time and harshly. Scrub for another 2~3 minutes and wash off with luke warm water.
Finally, finish off with 15 splashes of ice cold water!

This really saved my skin and I hope it performs the same wonderful benefits for you too:) Good luck!

Try a gentle exfoliation to help it. I would do. a routine everyday n night for this stuff.

There's a lotion that you can buy at a dollar store I believe called dermasil. In the winter the skin on my nose peeled so BAD and it was so embarrassing. I moisturized every day but it didn't help. But one night, I gave dermasil a try. I put a thick layer on my nose over night and the next morning, the peeling skin was GONE. I don't know how it happened, but it did.

Be extremely cautious with exfoliating because this can make it worse. I highly recommend CeraVe Hydrating Cleaner and the Moisturizing Lotion (am) and Moisturizing Cream (pm); sometimes I'll use the Cream in the morning too if my face is feeling extra dry. First Aid Beauty is also great for dry skin. Aquaphor Healing Ointment and Eucerin (face wash; I believe they have one for Hydrating). Drink lots of water and try not to wear foundation. You can wear it if you feel like you have to but as soon as you get home remove it! Also what foundation are you using because this could be making it worse...

Cerave moisturizing lotion I heard does wonders for dry skin. I have dry skin and I use ceraphil moisturizer but I am going to try the cerave. so far the cetaphil works great tho.

You could be using something thats hurting it. I have dry/normal skin but I reacted really badly to something last week and now my face is flakey and cracked. Maybe change your face wash/mask or cleanser and see if that works.

@Allison I used Cetaphil for three years and thought it was great but I was so wrong once I switched to CeraVe and saw how much better it is for dry skin.
