I stopped during Christmas break. You need to have a positive mind about keeping your nails long.Or just keep painting you nails with cute nail art so that you don't want to ruin your nail art

Well if u bite ur nails there is this nail polish (it's clear!) that tastes horrible to help u stop biting them and another trick (I know it's weird but it works!) you can wear gloves or oven mitts while you are at home what my mom used to do when I bit my nails is rub hot Sauce on my fingers! Hope I helped! ;)

Sharpie. I use to bite my nails ALL the time. I stopped by coloring in my nails with sharpies. It takes soooooo bad. Or rub a q-tip with fingernail polish remover on your nails while your at home. The taste will last a while, no matter how many times you wash your hands. That nail polish worked wonderfully for a friend of mine as well so you may want to try that

I have the same problem my nails grow but when Im working on school assignments I put my nails in my mouth periodically and don't bite them but it still weakens the nails causing them to break. The only thing that works for me is having something on my nails from press ons, polish or gel manicure.

What I am going to get into is long and drawn out lol, but this is something I needed when I was young and it took me years to find the information for and a lot of time spent agonizing over my inability to control myself, the perceived flaws I created in myself, and well, year's of unhappiness. I am an obsessive compulsive skin picker, it's actually in the turrets family of diseases, self injurious, not cute at all. You can't tell but under my makeup I have so many scars I look like the Hubble space pictures of other galaxies , but instead of pretty stars, just ugly scars. Anyhow, I am sharing with you the full scale depth of this because I don't want you to spend one second longer of your life worrying about this, I do wish I had help users before I do, my life would be so different... bleh... moving on...
These things can be difficult to overcome, but NOT IMPOSSIBLE :D. First step is awareness... some of the above mentioned things that make nails taste bad is a great way to become aware of what you are doing. Jot a note down in your phone or wherever every time you catch yourself. I know, it sucks, it's dumb, whatever.... IT IS NECESSARY. You can't stop a bad habit without knowing what your triggers are... so anywho, every time you catch yourself, make a note : time, place, what you were doing, who was around, how you felt. After a few days to a week you should start to see a pattern. Oh, and if you catch yourself and you cannot fight the desire, don't beat yourself up, forgive yourself and move on... Anyhow, now that you have your triggers figured out, work on being aware of those things BEFORE they arise and how you plan to deal with them when the things up. It's a coping mechanism.... find a new healthy way to cope and practice practice practice! Finally, work out some sort of reward system for yourself for times you go without picking, like a day, three days, a week, etc. make the reward reasonable ( this is not like let's go to Disney land...that's not like a year's worth of reward lol) but good enough to really work for! Truly beating an addiction like this is predominantly about awareness! You have to stay on top of yourself until its second nature. Good luck, please let us know of your progress ( positive support and reinforcement helps tons too!)

I used to be so bad and if I get started now I still can be. Truly nothing worked except getting fake nails! Then when those came off after ten yrs, lol... I used fake nails I did at home, then lots of strengthening products. I take biotin daily. I keep my nails painted. And don't start picking bc once you start it's impossible to stop!!

Just think about all the dirt and stuff you accumulate from daily work... Don't really want to have nasties in your mouth.

When I was on kindergarten my friend said that there is so much bacteria under your nails that If you bite them you'll die. . . Not true but I haven't chewed my nails since
