Should I grow out my hair?

Earlier this year my hair was at hip length but then I cut it to my collar bones for cancer. I've been thinking about growing it out again, to cut for cancer again but lots of people have told me they like it better short. So I have no idea what to do.
I'm going to include a photo of me with my current hair.
