With my daughter, I look at back at my pictures and think, "If I just put a LITTLE concealer underneath my eyes...". The moment is beautiful, meeting this precious baby for the first time is overwhelmingly exciting, you know all this. So this is what I think, I wouldn't put on foundation or bb cream. I'd spot conceal and A COAT (or maybe two) of waterproof mascara and call it day. Nothing heavy, nothing obvious, natural, yet more awake. Like others said, I wouldn't do the whole SHEBANG but I know what it feels like to look back at your pictures and knit pick. I had some pictures of just me before my daughter was born in the hospital and I looked like hell. That will NOT happen again. Ha.

I actually got my mum to put a TINY bit of mascara, lip balm and concealer on me about an hour after my son was born and she took some nicer photos of me holding him. It only took a second and I felt comfortable showing those off to friends and family.. But please please still get photos of that first hold and those first moments. You don't have to share those with anyone if you don't want to :) but they will mean much more to you. The blood sweat and tears photos should make you proud :)

I didn't wear anything for the birth of my son, I wore makeup like twice during my pregnancy and his first four months. I agree with everything the other girls have said too :)

I was so physically, mentally/emotionally drained from having my three kids I didnt even want to bother with makeup after each of my three kids. A week later after each birth I had a professional photog come to my home where she took pics of me and baby together. For that I wore makeup. Trust me...once those labor pains strike you aren't going to be thinking about makeup and its no telling how long your labor is going to be so you don't want to be wearing makeup. Just go with the flow...the most important thing is bringing a beautiful and healthy baby into this world. Congrats.

There is nothing wrong with wearing makeup but you need to make sure there is no alcohol based products in it. If for some reason they have to put you on oxygen ( so nasal cannula the thing tubing that goes across your nose holeS through your ears) you run the risk of starting a fire due to alcohol being in the products. I wouldn't do a whole smokey eye and honestly you probably won't even want makeup on just to push that baby out.

Epidural will not give you back pain for life. What will give you back pain is the excess weight infront of your belly ( having he baby) that strains the lower back muscles.

This is a site that explains the epidural. Epidural is nothing like narcotics. What it does is block nerves so your brain can not sense pain. If this is your first time I would suggest researching the matter so you can make an informed decision. Good luck!

By the time those contractions start hitting you your not going to care about how you look. Trust me. Lol.

Epidurals and c-sections, while common, do come with risks. Each mother should have the choice to decide, but only after being property educated.
As far as makeup, if you throw on some waterproof tightligner and concealer beforehand, great. If you don't get around to it, don't stress...and take more photos after you have q chance to wash your face from sweat and maybe nap! And the magic of converting photos to black and white made a few of my after pictures a lot lovelier...hospital lighting is not flattering to anyone. Best of luck for an easy delivery!
