What is the difference I want to go get my nails done and ask for ombré but I don't want to end up with gradient since I heard it's different any help I really am confused which is what :(

Like I get what they are but I see different styles being called different things like ombré being called gradient and gradient being called ombré and I don't know the true style of each so I need help please.

Ombré is a different color on every nail going from lightest to darkest or darkest to lightest. Gradient is when the color transitions on one nail.
