Hi everyone. Sorry if this is in the wrong category, I wasn't sure what to put it under. Ever since the editorial on epilators I have become really interested in using one...but I wanted your opinions. Have any of you ever used a epilator? What did you think about it? If you like it and still use one, what brand/model? Thanks!!

I've used my cousins one before and the first time it hurt like mad at first but then you got used to it. But then when I used it again no pain at all! The hair started growing back after nearly a week but it wasn't prickly or dark like when you shave. I loved using it and I'm definitely going to buy my own, once I get money haha.

My mom has one and I hate using it. My family went camping a few summers ago where we had to pay for showers so we (6 girls) all used the epilator the day we got there on our legs and armpits. Worst day of my life lol. It hurt so bad. It worked well like waxing but it's so little so it took a long time vs waxing the strip is there and ripped and a big chunk of hair is gone. With this it ripped out every single hair in like 4-5 single hair groups. I was going "Ow ow Ow ow" for 2 hours rather than 30 minutes while waxing my full legs lol. My mom uses it on her toe hair (ouch) still but that's it since it's so painful.

I'm sure you get used to it, but I'd only use it on small areas like the upper lip lol.

Well I sugar wax every couple of weeks but I have the braun silk epil epilator that I use for emergencies for instance if sth comes up and I don't have time for sugar waxing
It does hurt more than waxing you kinda feel every hair being pulled but I got used to it and as I said I just use it for emergencies but it is handy to have around also mine has the shaving piece with it which is very useful
I would recommend having one :)

I actually really like epilators! I also had a painfully first experience a few years back but after realizing that waxing is too mass for me I got a new epilator and gave it another try. I bought the braun silk epil 7
the first try was painful as he'll but ones you try to work slowly across the skin and not flinch it gets a lot easier and now I just use it while watching TVs on my couch

I always highly recommend epilators for hair removal! I love it it works so well to remove hair and yes it hurts the first time it's very much worth it, the hair takes longer to grow back and once you have done it a couple of time it do sent hurt anymore! :)

I have a Braun silk epil. I don't use it anymore due to buying a laser hair removal system. if I had not bought that I would still be using my epilator. I highly recommend getting one! the results are great.

I use an epilator. I have used it for about a year now and love it. Originally I got it because I had dark underarms and had heard waxing or epilating would help. The first time I tried it it hurt a lot but now it doesn't. I love that I don't have to shave every two days like the razor. And my underarms are no longer dark (:

Thanks everyone for your honest opinions! I think I just might have to go out and get one. @Alya A- do you make your own sugar wax?

My mom used to do her own but unfortunately I never learned how
I get it done for me by a lady I've known for a long time and she's great at it :)
