I am in the process of growing my hair back from a horrid state of not giving a hoot lol it's at a length I am comfortable with now. Would it be a bad idea to dye my hair now? It's been untouched for over a year now. If so, does hair still grow healthily while dyed? Thank you in advance!!

If you haven't colored it in a year it will be fine. Just please make sure the stylist knows what he or she is doing with lightener. However, reds are hard to maintain. The touch up would also involve lightening your roots.

Ahh I see. Oh good! it was hard to go a year without coloring lol The touch up I wanted to try to manage myself I've been dying my own hair for years but for my initial re-dye I definitely wanted to go to a stylist. Thank you!!

Allie is right. Red fades quickly and with root touch up, if you're using a salon, can get pricey.

Hmm. Okay thank you, I may rethink my color choice because I plan on committing to it. It's just that I'm open to almost any color.

Maybe you can consider peek a boo color? They aren't anywhere near the root.
