This may be a weird question but when I put my makeup on at home it looks great and matches beautifully to my face but when I go back and look at pictures I feel like my body looks so dark compared to my face! So my question is should I be matching my foundation closer to my body color or stick to what I've been doing which is just matching it just to my face.

Are you sure it's not your cream, primer or another product that might contain SPF and therefor reflect in photos which makes you look brighter?

I do use a moisturizer that contains SPF. Do all products containing SPF give off that brighter look?

Yes you are suppose to match it to your neck and the rest of your body. My face is way lighter than the rest of my body... And mind that in pictures some foundations can give off a white cast.

I'm not sure if everyone product out there does so. But many do. Shimmer in the foundation can also make it look lighter.
But your skin might as well be lighter in your face. You could always ask for a sample and see how comfortable you'd be switching to a darker color. Personally I've just accepted the fact that I'm a bit lighter in my face and that's okay with me. I'd rather look lighter than have a foundation rub off during the day and look like a zebra. Have you tried just bronzing up your skin a bit?

Or maybe just try a different foundation and make sure it isn't just the product sending off a white cast?

Do you regularly exfoliate? That can be one reason why your face is lighter than the rest of your body. That's my case & I also wear higher spf & wear hats outside to avoid the sun. I usually try to match my foundation to my neck (which is a tad bit darker). Another option, add bronzer all over your face.
