Hair growth is based on genetics, the health of you & your hair. so the only way to promote growth is to keep yourself & your hair in good health.

Do not just go taking pills (including biotin). You can end up with side effects serious enough to put you in the hospital. always ask your doctor first.

Some tips to promote growth:
get trims regularly (split ends will go higher up the longer you wait & then you'll have to cut off more hair)
drink a lot of water
use as little heat as possible
always use a heat protectant, I recommend It's a 10
don't brush your hair while it's wet
do hot oil treatments (I use coconut oil)
use a deep conditioner (I use Aussie 3 minute miracle)
use hair masks (store bought or diy)
try a leave in conditioner

keep in mind that there are no miracle products or methods. good luck in growing your hair! :)

I was just reading an article stating that genetics doesn't affect how long your hair will grow, just it's abilities. All hair has the potential to stay in the growing phase for many years, your genetics well determine how you need to care for your hair in order to keep it growing. Point being, you say you have thin blonde hair, those are your genetics.. so you need to find products that cater to your hair your as well as practice healthy routines like mentioned by Kat. Don't be discouraged, your hair can grow!! I've been trying to bring my hair back to life for two years so I know how it feels lol how this helps a bit and good luck!

I have really thin hair too. My stylist said its not your hair that isn't growing its your ends falling off from damage... So just be sensitive with it.

You don't need any supplements unless your doctor says so.
My hair journey has been simple and it works, and I'm prone to breakage.

I treat my hair delecatley and especially when its wet, do not brush it because wet hair is weak. Also try to naturally dry it or atleast use your hair dryer to dry it a little or use a cooler setting.
Refrain from using heating tools, I only straighten my hair for special occasions, which I use Tresseme heat protectant and a medium setting on my straightener.
Also after washing my hair I use argon oil in my hair to give it moisture and strength. It also leaves a nice shine.

An often overlooked aspect of hair growth: nutrition. If you aren't getting adequate nutrition from your diet, your body will not use any of its resources for your hair (what vitamins and such that you do eat are being used by necessary bodily functions). Eating a healthy, balanced diet and staying adequately hydrated will help hair and skin (as well as being healthier in general). The reason people see results from over-the-counter vitamins is likely because they have a poor diet. If you are eating properly, taking these pills will either do nothing (as the body filters out the excess vitamins/minerals through the kidneys and expels them through the bladder: making expensive, vitamin-enriched urine) or they will cause side effects ranging from acne to system failure. You'll either flush your money down the toilet, or wind up with more expensive problems that are much harder to fix. Don't take pills, eat better.

Also, don't smoke. Smoking causes hair to thin and become brittle, as well as skin to lose elasticity and become wrinkled. Many people don't realize that smoking affects the outside appearance too, and more quickly than you would think (it isn't just people who smoke a pack a day for decades).
