Ok so I'm trying to grow my hair, and I need tips, and recipes for DIY hair masks. Especially the masks. My hair grows pretty fast but have this AWFUL habit of ripping out my split ends. And I get split end really easily since I use heat everyday and my hair is pretty weak. So, usually I trim my hair but lately I'm not trimming it and using less heat but my hair has been getting oily really fast so now I wash it everyday and I feel that reduces the look of split ends. Also at the front of my head (usually secured under my bangs with extreme amounts of hairspray) is a chunk of hair that's about 1 1/2 inches long. I'm not sure how it got there but I think it has to do something with my habit of ripping out split ends. I wanna make that part of my hair really healthy ASAP. Please help!!😩

You need stop ripping out split ends because that doesn't help. Cut split ends and keep taking care of hair because you can't fix something that is daged. off hair masks I use eggs and olive oil like 1 time at week because it's simply to prepair and show good results.

To be honest with you, just get a hair cut. I know how much they suck, I stay away from hairdressers like they're sharks on land lmao so I know how you feel about trying to repair them but there really isn't any way to do that, the more split ends you have, the more hair you'll have to get cut off when you do finally get a haircut. I haven't had a haircut for about a year and have been dreading going to get one but it's the only way to get your hair to grow to the best of it's potential.

Oh no thats terrible! Try using coconut oil on it and leave it on for an hour or overnight! Also for your split ends spray a leave in a leave in conditionsd jn your hands and rub it on the ends it should make them softer and almost like glue the ends back together!

I don't go to hair dressers cuz of that chunk of hair in the front. It's really embarrassing

And my hair is already super short.

Your hair really isn't that short judging from your profile picture, if you told them you only want a trim I'm sure you wouldn't lose much length. Just find a good hairdresser that will listen to you.

It's not the hairdresser, it's the fact that there's a chunk of hair that's shorter then the rest and I don't wanna tell people what happened when I don't know myself

It's not that easy. The only hairdresser, like I, is Russian. Aka gossip machine. And she goes to my church. Prettying everyone knows there's something up but don't have the nerve to ask since my dad has a big part in our church and they don't wanna get wrong with the church. The point is, is that my hairdresser WILL ask no matter what and I'm not ready for that.

Just say you don't know all you want to do is have your hair fixed? Lol.

Actually that's a good idea, but them at the same time I could cut it myself. I always used to and my hair was healthier

Just say because of all the heat you use it got really damaged and just sorta snapped off, mine actually did that! It literally happened over night- I just noticed it one day and wondered when the hell it happened! it looked awful but I went in and explained that my hair snapped from over use of hair straightening and blowdrying plus long term lightening and she was not surprised at all especially because my hair is weak too and I get split ends like no ones business! But honestly it's not unusual at all and my hairdresser managed to blend it in with the cut and it is sooooo much better. It will grow but don't be embarrassed. Us girls do a lot of crap to our hair and it's nothing new trust me. You definitely sound like you need to ease up on using heat everyday though. Try replacing everyday washing with a smoothing serum for your ends. They will look just as nice as if you had just washed them. But at the end of the day, straightening your ends will make them brittle, split and prone to breakage, I'm no hairdresser but I have the worst hair type for a white woman and more hair problems than you can poke a stick at.

My best advice to you is to do a deep condition once a week one week moisturize deep condition and the next week a protein deep condition when you balance your hairs pH it helps keep you from getting split ends also try the loc method ( liquid oil cream) on your ends at night

Basically your best option is a hair cut.
Your hair isn't that short now maybe an inch or two would really help, quit using heat almost all together, and use deep conditioning treatments or add coconut oil or argon oil to your hair.
Honestly, you CANNOT repair split ends and the longer you leave them go the higher they split up the hair shaft and the more damage they cause. If you have to travel a little ways to go to a different hair dresser than do that. Otherwise, I would say just bite the bullet, go to the hairdresser, and just say you don't know what happened to that piece of hair.

Don't wash hair everyday. I know how annoying it will be but hold off as long as possible by pullling your hair up and using dry shampoo/baby powder. Massage your scalp once a day or so because it simulates hair growth. A good mosturizing hair mask is 3 egg whites, 1/4 cup of olive oil, and table spoon of water. Let it soak for 30 minutes and wash out.
