I bought the babyliss straightner!!

Hi ladies..finally bought the babyliss straightner...its the 'I-straight'..ST50E...its purple.. somehow the camera is not picking up the color right...it came with this pretty silver glittery pouch which I just love :)...m so happy with the purchase so thought of sharing with you guys!!
When I plugged it in..and switched it on..the red light was on for quite sometime and it became really hot..so does the red light turn off automatically once its ready for use..or should I switch it off once its hot?
if any of you used it please lemme know.. thanx :)
