My friend recently dyed her hair dark but doesn't really like it
(I think it looks great)
is there any home remedies or DIY ways of removing the colour?

Well, you can try vitamin C masks, those help to lift color, as well as hot oil treatments, which will draw out the hair dye without damaging your hair or drying it out. The last option is to wash her hair really well in the shower, heat and liquid together (like hot oil treatments) will open the cuticles of your hair and then wash away the color.
