I would just put it through the wash it could be dirty/have bacteria that I don't think you would want in your hair :p.

Maybe I'm the only one, but for color I love it!! Maybe you should consider distressing it after you wash it!

I say handwash it and soak it in water/stain remover since its delicate and putting it in the wash may ruin it

Dye it another color. You can buy fabric dye at any craft store.

Don't forget, you can either bleach it or dye it to another shade with fabric dyes. ;)

I've got 3 kids, in my lengthy laundry experience I don't think that's coming clean. And DONT PUT IT IN THE MACHINE! It's probably glued together, the shape, it will lose it's shape if you don't hand wash it.
