Practice!! use very small sections of hair, I like to twist it up for some curls (the straightener) and some down so that they don't all connect.. I also think it depends very much on the hair straightener you have. I tried doing it with ny bigger one and it didn't really work..but with my little one the curls come out so perfect and pretty. make sure to users heat protectant :)

I find it works the best on clean , blow dried hair. I tried doing it like you said with some mousse and once I tried it on 2 days old hair. didnt work. the hair straightener kind of like skips its hard to explain.. like instead you just being able to glide it down it just doesn't glide right and keeps skipping.

Definitely try doing it on fresh clean blow dried hair. itll work :)
