Okay so I've just been used to using concealer, make up, powder, eyeliner, blush, and mascara.

Can someone explain to me what foundation and everything else I don't use and it's purpose??

What do you mean when you listed makeup as a thing you used?
-foundation is used for a fuller coverage and an even skintone.

Those are the makeup products she has used, ramsha.
for future reference, this belongs under makeup, not beauty. foundation is to make your skin look basically flawless. bronzer is to warm up the face & it goes where the sun naturally hits. setting spray makes your makeup last & not budge throughout the day.

I'm trying to think of more lol. hmm.. bb cream is basically a tinted moisturizer, but with benefits like spf & depending on the specific one it can have more benefits. they are for less coverage. contouring can make certain parts of your face more defined (like cheekbones) & acts as a shadow. it can alsomake your nose & forehead appear smaller.

Bronzing isn't necessary. I never use bronzer. it just depends on what you want to do.

There is also face primer which preps your skin and pores for makeup, it insures your face makeup last all day. Same with eye primer. It insures your eyeshadow stays on all day.

I don't think bronzer's necessary but I like to apply it occassionally if I fancy a more bronzed look. I just apply it on the high points of my face where the sun would naturally hit.

There's also primer. It's meant to extend the time your makeup. Same with eye shadow primer. Again, not a necessity but useful if you need your makeup to last longer without top ups.

Lip liner can be used as lipstick, to help keep lipstick from feathering, or to do the ombre or gradient type effect.

For primer I like Max Factor's facefinity primer and benefit's porefessional.

And for setting spray I swear by Urban Decay's All nighter and Deslick are both really nice.

For drugstore I love nyx dewy setting spray! about $5 & available at ulta. I've heard the nyx photo loving (I thinkthat was the name) primer is good.
as far as foundation, I don't wear it, but I hear good things about loreal lumi & Revlon color stay. what skin type do you have?

Becky- it's okay all and any help is appreciated:)

Kat- My skin is probably dry but gets that oily look when I spent more than 4-5 hours with makeup on. I also have eczema and apply ointment on.

Well there is quite a lot of products that can go on the face :D usually people start with a primer to the face a primer is basically a cream that is applied to even out your face so that when you apply your other products your products look flawless their are many different types of primers depending on your skin type I would suggest to you any smashbox photo finish primers or hourglass mineral veil primer both are lovely then their is foundation which is meant to either even out skin or just make it look flawless each foundation has different coverage also foundation comes in different forms such as liquid, gel , mousse and powder each are made for different skin types a good foundation for combination skin is cover girl outlast it gives nice coverage their is also bronzer which is to give the face a sunkissed look their is also highlighter which is to brighten certain parts of the fave and illuminate it their is also contour which is thin certain parts of the face every body has different face shapes so evry contour is different hope I could help and sorry that is so long oh and I also forgot their is setting spray to help prolong you makeup my favorite is urban decay all nighter spray okay now I'm done sorry about the rant :D
