Basically I'm a makeup "newbie". I've been wearing makeup for years but haven't bothered putting much effort into it. But now that I'm bald I'd love to be more feminine and do more looks and perfect my technique because honestly my makeup looks awful. I have a small budget but I was wondering what some good eyeshadows and lipsticks were sephora. Especially from the urban decay section. Thanks!
(I have brown eyes if that helps)

Oh and I have the naked 3. I'm not a huge fan.

From urban decay, I think a really good palette to have is the Naked Basics. It's exactly what it sounds like, basics. Its a great place to start and it makes a perfect companion to any other palette or single you have. Its got great transition colors and a nice color to deepen things up, as well as several highlight colors. Its a great palette to get started with! As far as lipsticks, Bite Beauty has amazing lipsticks, I've been hearing great things about the Sephora brand luster matte liquid lipsticks, and Too Faced Melted lipsticks are awesome! Let me know if you want any more recommendations :)

Personally, when it comes to neutral palettes... I'm perfectly content with my BH Cosmetics neutrals palettes. They are quite pigmented within themselves, and with a primer it's magic. ( A bit more pigmented than my Urban Decay palettes in my opinion. )
For colors, Urban Decay's Electric palette is the bomb, if you are scared of spending a big buck on color.. BH, ELF, Wet n Wild all have nice colorful shadows.
For lip products, I would go with bundles. The lip products do indeed look tiny, but I have several BITE lippies that although they look tiny, they are very pigmented so they last a while and I still have them after months.

Urban Decay's lipsticks are so pretty, pigmented, creamy, and long lasting! I sadly only have one which is Catfight ($22). I'll probably add Anarchy to my collection next, since I love the lip liner. I have a few of their lip liners ($20), too, which I recommend! I bought a few from the UD site that were on sale for $6, but I'm not sure if they have them still. I own a the oz Theodora palette, and I'm not super impressed with their eye shadows. I think UD has their buy $30 to get $30 worth of samples on their site I saw it advertised on my Facebook feed. I'm not sure if it's still going on...I'd check them out first before you buy at Sephora!

I would check out the Tarte Rainforest After Dark palette. It is around $35 I think and has 6 eyeshadows, a blush, a bronzer, and a highlighter.
All colors are a very good size, but it is also very compact! I have the Tarte Aqualillies palette that came out last(?) summer and I am obsessed. It has the same layout as the new Rainforst palette but I think the colors would really compliment your skin tone! Happy shoppings:)

I've got the UD lipstick in Liar and I think it has a slightly weird taste. Like almost metallic tasting. I also have two samples in 69 and Catfight but I haven't noticed the taste with them. That might be because I don't wear them out that often.
Anyone else experience this?!

I haven't had any odd flavors with the lipstick or lipstick samples I own from UD. The few samples I have in Obsessed, F-Bomb, Anarchy, and Naked do not taste like that. I think you might've gotten a bad batch. I'd return it if you can, Katie!
