Fishtail braid advice

The other day I tried to French-fishtail my hair, but it just looks like a regular French braid, so I was wondering of you guys could give me some advice to make my fishtail look better and more fishtail like. I think that I took big strands instead of small ones, but that's the only thing I can think of improving.

That's about it. You need to take TINY strands.

Take small strands as you keep going down the head and ull get the fishtail look.

Practicee. take small strands and try to keep them the same size for the entire braid. first practice a normal french braid and then a fishtail braid and then do the french-fishtail. tbh I can't do the french braid I find it super hard -.- but my fishtail is ok I guess so yeah practice.
