I used a purse all my freshmen year. you don't have to carry everything at once, buy a locker. it held everything I needed it too & I'd just carry a small binder.

I say get a backpack for the first few weeks to see what you need, and if you don't need anything too big, use a purse!

Backpack. Just use a backpack trust me it will make carrying things so much easier
