I've heard a lot of "makeup rules" on how not to use bronzer. I get that sometimes they're orangey, but are there other reasons?

I've heard not to use bronzer for contouring because its too shimmery, but I don't know anything else.

I've never heard that it's bad?

Oh I've always thought they're meant for contouring! Wow I feel stupid now lol. What can you use for contouring?

There's always contouring sticks and palletes. Sephora always carries them.

Try a taupe colored eyeshadow or contour pallete. You want a gray based brown. Taupe-y. 😊

It's not always bad for contouring. Too Face has the chocolate soleil bronzer that is matte and is great for contour.

Some people say that it's bad for contouring but it's probably because they don't know how to use it correctly in that way. I've seen some girls contour with bronzer and it turns out great. It really depends on the person

You can use a bronzer for contouring there is no rule that you can't but it should be matte and have a cool grey ish undertone to mimick a shadow
Just because it has the title "bronzer" dosnt mean you can't contour with it like the hoola bronzer from benefit ,lots if people use that for contouring
But bronzer is meant for giving you that sun kissed glow so your supposed to use it on te areas the sun would hit naturally like the forehead nose cheekbones etc
It isn't bad in any way you an use it anyway you like sometimes it can be a really good eyeshadow too

Also for contouring it depends on the persons skin tone like if someone really pale used a more orangy bronzer as a contor it would look really bad but if someone who was tan used it it would look fine

Who cares if it's 'not meant' for contouring? If it looks good and whoever is wearing it likes how it looks on them, it shouldn't matter?

Certain concealer are good for contouring as well.
