Lightening Hair Extensions!?

My friend has extensions that were originally chesnut brown and she dyed them to off black.

Now she wants to lighten them to a light brown.

How can she lighten them with dye?

I doubt she will be able to without damaging the hair, she'd be better off getting a new set.
