I did this and it only lasted a couple days after hand washing (it was on my wrist) and showers, but it really works for the time it lasted!

Man Vs Pin did an episode on it and it was completely gone after 3 days so I'm not sure how this works for you
He also used a control (just sharpie no powder or hairspray) and it seemed to make no difference.

I was just messing around a while ago and I used a black eyeliner to do a tattoo and set it with translucent powder. It stayed on for two days with showers and washing my hands. The funny thing was that the eyeliner wasn't water-proof and it comes off soooooo easily with water. I was kinda surprised it stayed on.
