No it's like that at a lot of makeup stores they aren't required to hire makeup artists at all.

Haha it's pretty obnoxious. The ones that bombard me aren't normal Ulta employees- they wear a black Ulta coat and sit at a stand over in the high end station

Haha jessi I will trade you! I like to be left alone when I shop unless I ask them for help

Yeah the ULTA I've been to in NorCal the girls couldn't care less in fact it's difficult to find help in that store - the employees are more considered with gossiping amongst themselves than helping customers n half the time they don't know about the majority of the products in the store :P.

They try to sell because they need to make money.I had one girl try and get me to by bronzer and I told her no thank it wasn't what I needed at the time and she try to still show me more bronzers until I looked at her and smiled shook my head then she looked at me and said I'm no help huh and I told her no but I like your enthusiasm and she laughed and said sorry ;-) lol at first I thought she was hyped on something because she was all over the place.

I guess there's no happy medium with Ulta. Ha ha. I hate gossipy employees though- very uncomfortable.

No I haven't. I went to ulta for the first time a couple days ago. So happy btw. The women working there had such beat faces! Awesome makeup like MAC girls. They were really nice and chill. Let me look and bailed me out when I looked so lost lol. I had a good first impression

The ladies at my Ulta ignore me like I don't exist, so I never go in there.

Ulta is such a hit and miss for me.
You either have days where you walk in and everyone is helpful, or days where everyone just does not want to work.
I've seen those ladies as well.. the ones at mine had white coats. They did not really say anything, they were doing each others make up.

I've only been in one Ulta but there was one who was like that but lucky for me she was always harassing some other poor sap when I walked in haha. And I stay in the low end section usually. Because in all honesty, there is nothing I find slightly interesting in the high end side.

The ladies at my local ulta are like that. I feel like the moment I pick up something they rush over and start showing me something else or asking how I can be helped. And the moment I try to ask for help they don't know. It's frustrating.

Wow Victoria, that is awful customer service. I would have even requested the store manager to complain.
Bryanna, I honestly thought that was only me. The crazy part is that I prefer high end products more... maybe it's the boring set up? Ulta just isn't that interesting as a store altogether. I only really go to look at some of NYX's goodies now.

OMG! I thought it was just me they have gotten really bad lately one sales guy insulted my choice of lorac lipstick to try and sell me on five ck lipsticks needless to say I left with nothing ulta needs to do better.

That's exactly what I went and still go for. NYX is my new favorite brand. I also went for the nail polish.

They are like that in my Ulta but I go on fully made up and they see my makeup is done and don't bother me I also walk straight over to the same lady I been goin to for years and once they see that they walk away lol.

I won't go to the one in my town anymore. Stare at me as I walk in, totally ignore me, stare at me as I walk out empty handed because I'm not giving them my business. I also do not like being harassed but being stared down and yet not said a word to is so rude. I will only go to sephora now.

The girls in my Ulta are horrible. I always have to search for someone to help me. One time I had to show the girl what I wanted on my phone.. she was so clueless.
I still go back but I don't expect much customer service

I go to ulta very rarely, frankly because I'm lazy and sephora is so much closer to walk to from my job right outside the mall. lol. But I went to ulta one time on break from work all done up because I was serving that night and more glitter more tips, and they asked once if I needed help, and I said no I know exactly what I needed and they left me alone, and only helped when I needed to be color matched to the new bare minerals foundation. but one time I went in after a long day and late night with bare minimum makeup on, and I swear they tried to sell me everything in the store lol. All I needed was lash glue! not foundation, concealer, bronzer, and every other face product imaginable. and don't even get me started on the girl at the brow bar. I went in just for the dipbrow in blonde because sephora ran out. she tried like four products on me, and didn't even do my brows nicely. ughh.

There are three ULTA's in my city. I avoid one of them like the plague because the customer service sucks royally. They never have anything stocked. Product merchandising is garbage and the place is always filthy. The one that I go to is less than 10 minutes away and I know the management staff and its opposite of the ugly store that I avoid. Its really nice to walk in and the staff greets me by name and interact with my kids. Management sets the tone for the entire store...that's with any retail establishment. So when you go into a store with horrible service better best believe its due to management style. And staffers will mimic the behaviors of their managers.

I can never find an employee in my Ulta.
