However, what you have created is not a smokey eye. In order to turn what you have made into a smokey eye you would need blend out your liner so there are no harsh lines or wing. You can use the black liner as your base for your shadows... Now a smokey eye usually consists of 3 colors; black, dark brown, and a tan. Now instead of having your lightest shadows in your inner corner and it getting darker in a horizontal fashion, you will want it to be darker at the lashline getting lighter as it goes up... So black at the bottom, then brown slightly overlapping and above, and so forth. As my makeup aunt Alma would say, think of it as smoke to fire... You want a gradual fade from your deep intense shade to a more subtle lighter shade... Blending is a very important part in creating a smokey eye as well, because if it isn't blended properly you won't get that smooth gradual fade you want. My tip for even blending is to hold your hand above your eye tilted downward as though someone else is doing your makeup. This was a tip I got from Chrisspy on YT, and I have found it to work well... Oh and you also want to smoke out your bottom lashline... I don't think I have forgot anything but I may have so if you have any questions feel free to ask... Mrs. Jackie or Alma may be able to explain it even better though...
Here is a pic of my unfinished smokey eye to show what I mean... I didnt smoke out my bottom lashline.
