Hombre lol anyways ombre is gradually dark to light or light to dark. While bayalage is highlights that are painted onto the hair vs foil highlights.

Haha isn't hombre mean man in Spanish! So what's the difference of painting on highlights vs foiling them.

Balayage gives a more natural effect than foils as the aim is to highlight areas where the sun would naturally hit. It can also be used to give a slightly ombred effect too.
Overall if I was going to dye my hair again I'd go for Balayage.

Painting on the highlights gives a natural look vs zebra stripes as I call it lol, instead of harsh consistent lines that highlights gives, you get a natural blended look with baylayge. Ombre and Baylayge are often confused with the same thing but the only thing they have in common is not using foils. Ombre is meant to fade, so the roots are either darker or lighter (reverse ombre) and then fade to different shades. I feel like they get confused but really Baylayge and Foil Highlights are closer to the same idea but just in a natural way. Baylayge is intended to highlight naturally and covers the whole head compared to ombre with different variants throughout the hair.
