I appreciate many brands. I think I bought MAC like crazy and I love it. However, for the past year have really been into UD, MUFE and wow, drugstores are really getting their game on. I am friends with a makeup artist for Estee Lauder that owns L'oreal, MAC, Clinique and more. She said it is amazing how close drugstore brands are coming to the mid high ends like MAC. I have bought about 12-15 Chanel items not including my perfumes, but have to say that out of those I still only use one. One foundation was nice, but not worth the $$ considering my $20 foundation was just as flawless. I have one Chanel eyeshadow that I love, but it is just like Beauty Marked from MAC. I don't think it is necessary for Chanel to have to pay a very highly paid celebrity and use that additional money to put into the product line. We could also benefit from it even it if the cost would go down by 20%. I understand Chanel will be expensive. The clothing is difference as it is timeless, but the cosmetics are very hit and miss. I kept a few, but returned 80% of my Chanel. I have returned one MAC item being the PRO "Cream" Eyeliner that you can wet for better application. I ordered it in '09 when it was first released, so I hope it improved. I don't hear a lot about it. I love the Chromaline. Could chat about MU forever, but I feel if someone is on any sort of budget the only investment item I MAY, ONLY MAY ever invest in would be a foundation. They other products are very dupable. My dupes I prefer most of the time. I know it is mostly about opinion and pulling out that Chanel Compact, but pulling out my MAC Blot Powder Compact is just fine with me:) Good luck with whatever you purchase!
