I hope I'm posting in the right place. I know you guys can help me out with this and I'm a little embarrassed that I don't already know. When I went to makeup academy, I learned to apply primer, foundation, concealer, highlighter and contour (if HAC is cream) in that order. Then to set it all with translucent powder. So here's where I'm confused. What does a MUA use flesh toned powder for? I remember I used to love the finish it gave me back before I went to MUA school. Then I got all involved with highlighters and bronzers and concealers and now I'm a little confused. When would you ladies use one or the other?

I use translucent powder to set make up and colored powder if I am not using foundation. For example when I do prom makeup the girls are young and don't usually need a full face of foundation so I conceal and use powder or mineral makeup on them

Color powder is used in lieu of foundation, or to set it like translucent powder. Do not use color powder under the eyes to set concealer, it will kris like crazy. Translucent powder can be used to set foundation and underwrite concealer. Pressed translucent powder in my experience is much easier to work with, it's much harder to overdo it, too much Will cause you to caky. If you have not tried NARS pressed translucent powder, I can't recommend it enough. I've dropped my compact so many times, it's not even funny and it's never broken. It has lasted me over year with daily application, I'm still not out of it. The application is flawless, it really does give you an airbrush finish. I swear they put fairy dust or unicorn powder in it, it's that good. my overall suggestion is stick with concealer and foundation, setting it with translucent powder, that's always look the best, IMHO, but do not use both at the same time for the web of goodness.

I've heard great things about RCMA. Maybe I'll get some products from both.
