Put a white shadow color in the inner corners of your eyes.

I have small eyes too. I think the main thing to realize is that can't do as many colors on your eyes as people with more space. It just gets messy quick. Use smaller brushes for exact placement of shadows and then blend together. If you've blended out one of the colors (like inner corner highlight, or middle of the lid dimensional highlight), it's fine to go back in and dab a bit more of that color on. One of the problems that happens to me is if I smoke out my eyeliner it pretty much takes out half my lid, and since I have hooded eyes, it's the only bit of my eye that's really visible. So I have taken to only lining the outer third of my lid if I'm going to smoke it out, that way it blends into the darker contouring color. Two color looks really work best on me. A highlighting shade, a contour shade, and if I want to get fancy, and shake it up for evening, adding a third shade to the middle of the lid to give it some pow. Creme tubes of glittery make up work great for this. Carry it in my purse, dab it on with my fingers and let it dry. Boots #7 creme eye shadows are great for this. I have my eye one of those Elias Faas pens as well.
