Did you bleach the hair before using manic panic? Or did you just apply it over the original hair color? I always waged to dye my hair using manic panic but I have dark hair and I don't want to bleach it first if I don't have to.

Thanks Marae! And Alyssa, indirectly yes. I had my hair auburn (color removed purple dye, then double bleached the hair and dyed it auburn and brown)

To gett color I just put the due over it since it was light already. If your hair is dark and you don't want to directly bleach your hair then get loreal hicolor in one of the 2 red shades (magneta one is more burgundy) then apply the dye over it. It's an excellent product for lifting dark hair. You can even use dark and lovely in honey blonde then follow up with applying the manic panic
