So I just tried the bentonite clay with activated charcoal and apple cider vinegar and it's the first time I used the vinegar but is it normal that it fizzes up? When I poured the vinegar it was really weird and when I mixed it it looked like whipped cream or something... Sorry this is a stupid question 😂

So vinegar is an acid (acetic acid to be specific) so if you mix it with something basic then it will fizz because it's neutralizing the acid - and probably giving off a gas (probably just CO2) but it's a normal chemical reaction when acids combine with bases (try mixing vinegar and baking powder it gives the same effect) - but it's probably not good to combine an acid and base on your skin...

No, it's supposed to do that. You mix it till the fizz settles, and then spread the mixture in your face.

Totally normal. Diana's explanation is spot on, but it's safe to apply - acids and bases cancel one another out, so when you mix them it neutralizes.

Nope! You're in the clear lovely! also just a heads up, yes an acid and a base do undergo a neutralization reaction, but that doesn't mean that the products of their reaction are neutral. A string acid with a weak base will produce water and an acidic salt and a strong base with a weak acid will produce water and a basic salt. Only a string acid and a strong base will produce a neutral salt and water. So we can't say that it's safe because it's 'neutral', that isn't quite right. It just so happens that this acid /base combo isn't harmful to your face, but it's not necessarily 'neutral'
