So basically I have these sort of red dots under my skin. They are not pimples because they are like under the skin and the skin over them is smooth... Could it be scarring? I have not clue! Thanks 😘

If they're not raised, then yes sounds like scars from previous breakouts.

I thought the same thing! I'm currently on epiduo but that's hasn't done anything but make my skin dry and flakey! And thank you for your helpful info! I have done some research but mostly on side affects and stuff! Thanks again!

I have been on 2 different prescriptions and also 2 different topical creams! I really thought my dermatologist would try other things but at my last appointment he gave me two options, go back on a medication that I've already been on or go on accutane and because this medication didn't work the first time I decide on accutane. Also you skin is so beautiful!!

Now that I'm reading that through I sound like an a creep! 😂😂 And yes I know the severity of my acne is not bad at all and I was super duper confused as to how Accutane would even be an option for me!

Those are new acne scars. They will eventually fade and become invisible (though this can take up to a year), and of course they may not leave a smooth surface behind. I wouldn't necessarily try to treat them until you have your acne under control just because the scar cream treatment could make acne worse. I was on accutane when it was first out in the late 80s. It did slow down my acne, not completely clear it up. I really just stopped using it because it was a bit of a chore to fill the prescription in college as well as stay out of the sun, etc. I still get breakouts at 44 but am happy enough using OTC skin care regime.
