I love in Buffalo NY, the weather here is HORRIBLE in the winter! and my skin gets so dried out! even after putting on my moisturizer at night, when I wake up my skin is still dull and flaky looking! I currently use Nivea Cream, which doesn't work for me, and my face wash is clean and clear morning burst! I'm willing to spend money for a good face wash that will exfoliate my skin and get the dead skin off! and I'll also pay for a good moisturizer! suggestions?! pleaseeee!!

I would look into the shesheido skincare line, it's pricey but so worth it.

I've found clean and clear to be way too harsh and stripping for my face (if its the kind with plastic beads, they're also terrible for the environment, and a lot of places have banned or are working on banning them). I'd advise a gentler cleanser, like cetaphil (drugstore) or boscia (higher end). To exfoliate a recommend a Konjac sponge, you can get them on Amazon, at some targets, and Ulta for around $5. They're a manual exfoliating sponge that's super gentle (I use it about 6 days a week) but great at removing dead skin. For moisturizers, I like but don't love Lush skin drink, and many people like jojoba oil, coconut oil (can cause allergic reactions/acne in some people, so spot check), Clinique dramatically different moisturizer for dry skin, and cetaphil moisturizer.

Clinique Turnaround Overnight moisturizer. It helps exfoliate dead skin away while still moisturizing. I've been loving it lately. They also make a scrub in the turnaround line that is similar to a microdermabrasion treatment if you're still feeling really flaky. The whole line is geared toward renewing radiance in the skin. There's also a more concentrated serum but I think the moisturizer is the best if your skin is also dry

Also the dramatically different is a good moisturizer but it's main purpose is really just to balance your oil and water production. That can make all the difference for one person but someone else may still be dry. Just a heads up :) and if you are dry get the lotion, not the gel. The lotion is more so for drier skin and the gel for oilier

I just found exfoliating wipes at Target the other day. they may help as well.
I used to have dull skin as well and couldn't figure out why. exfoliation and masks help tremendously.

I use the Cetaphil face wash it really moisturizes my skin. Sometimes I give myself a honey face mask. I live in NY too. :)

I also have dry skin and what works best for me is a gentle non drying cleanser like the one from first aid beauty followed by immediate application of a moisture mask both day and night. My HG moisture mask is Clinique moisture surge overnight mask. I find it much more moisturizing than any of the other clinique moisturizers. Using a good exfoliator like clinique 7 day scrub will really help to brighten the skin and origins has an amazing brightening moisturizer in their ginzing line, however on dry skin it is more brightening than it is moisturizing. You could also try using a facial sponge to cleanse because it will slough off dead skin leaving your skin refreshed and bright. My last tip would be to get yourself a bottle of cliniques moisturizing facial spray which can be used during the day to give skin a nice pick me up.
