Lately when I wax my brow area and mustache, I have been pulling off layers of skin!! I have been waxing with the same system without issue for over ten years. I am wondering if roc retinol (one daily pm) clarsonic (twice a week) vit c (once a day) and a light lactic acid peel serum once a week, has weakened the skin?? Please help. Any waxing alternatives? I have a lot of hair, I must wax once a week.
Thank you!!

I'm definitely not an expert. I really don't know if the products you're use might be to blame. But have you considered laser for hair removal? My mom is pretty hairy herself and had it done, she couldn't be happier. You have beautiful skin, whatever you are doing is making it look gorgeous. But if this is happening it is important to reconsider.

The retinol is causing this. When using retinol and wanting to wax you are suppose to lay off using it for 7 days before proceeding to wax. I only need to wax my brows once a month and I use a retinol plus do peels (no Clarisonic though) and I wouldn't say all that makes the skin delicate...just sensitive to harsh products like a wax.

The retinol definitely can make your skin, very sensitive I usually advise that before you wax you don't use your retinol for at least a two weeks and waxing once a week is a lot it's not giving your skin time to heal itself

Thanks, this is what I expected. I would like to use a different hair removal method. @mariana- I would love to try laser but an nervous as I have pronounced melasma and am afraid of it worsening. Any other options? I tweeze but it's overwhelming and time consuming to maintain. Is there a safe hair removal cream? ThAnks for your help!!

I'm looking for something I can do as I need to do it very often. I may look into it if there is one local, what is the cost?

Oh it's sooo cheap it's like 12 bucks for brows. I forgot how much for the mustache area but I know it's not that bad
