Becky I actually worked for the company for a few years ( Hate sounding like a salesperson for any specific brand so I apologize if I do!). The kit is definitely an old one, haha. The kits that they have now are a lot more personalized, specific, and help a lot in terms of how to use their products. If there is a boutique by you, they are awesome at helping you! They did also just release a liquid formula as well. No, change can be hard for a lot of people, haha for me it just depends on what I'm changing (going on a random tangent sorry). I tend to break out easily so I RARELY use other brands for foundation just because I also am comfortable with my bare minerals foundation and can trust my skin not to freak on me. Not to sound totally like an employee, lol, but it honestly changed the way I looked at my skin. I now only break out during my period, and even then its so minor to what it would do when I used other brands and especially liquid. Its super nice too because every foundation they have, is completely buildable, making it so easy for anyone to get the look they want to achieve. Can you show me a picture of all the products (from the bottom so I can see what all you got), maybe I can try to walk you through how to try it out?

Wow, then who is better to ask about Bare Minerals other than someone who actually worked for Bare Minerals! The kit did come with like a little leaflet which told you what to do, but being the most unorganised person ever I lost it along with all the brushes (it came with three brushes). It came with a few powders, I'll post pictures of them. But from what you've said the Bare Minerals sounds really good, I'm an idiot for having it lying around my room for so long.

Okay, so you have two foundations ( they did this years ago for when people mostly ordered it from the site or commercials haha) so you can find out which shade is for you. They are both the original formula, which means it gives a more "luminous" finish, just meaning more of your natural glow. You being oily, this may not the one you want to use (but, I say give it a try anyways just to see how it works with your skin). The mineral veil is a corn starch base finishing powder so PERFECT for absorbing oils. You'd put it over the foundation and as needed throughout the day (you'd use this for touchups/blotting rather than more foundation). You can now get mineral veil in a compact form which makes it great to carry with you, and in multiple shades (people don't always like the translucent one). Warmth is basically a bronzer. Yes, it's quite dark, orange and intimidating looking. This bad buy you will want use Cinnamon sprinkles at a time. I will stress that, lol, a little goes a long way. You can always build up more color.
Now you're brushes, you most like got the Full Flawless Face(This is your foundation, it will give you medium coverage, but you can build up to fuller, can also use this for the mineral veil since its translucent), Flawless face (this is like a mini of your foundation brush, use this for the warmth or even a blush), Concealer brush (well, this ones a but self-explanitory).

Try the foundation, just tap a little at a time into the lid, swirl the product into the brush really well, tap off the extra, and buff into the skin in circular motions (no need to put a lot of pressure, don't be too heavy handed, can ruin your brush and overuse product). You can keep buffing till you feel it looks blended well. You honestly CANNOT over blend these guys, lol, the more you buff, the more you warm the minerals up to your skin, and becomes more creamy. It shouldn't look powdery at all on your skin once you've buffed in. Hope all this helps!

Thank you so much Janina, you've been so so so helpful!😊 so I have decided I am going to try this out tomorrow and follow your advice exactly haha, because you're the expert. From what you said the mineral veil sounds perfect for me, because I have the oiliest skin you could imagine, and because it's translucent it sounds perfect for touching up throughout the day, like you said, I imagine it wouldn't give you that cakey look as you aren't adding more foundation. I'm going to check out the mineral veil in compact as you said. Swirl, buff and tap is the way! Haha, it's plastered all over the box so I won't forget that! I'm actually excited to try and use this, is that weird haha. From what you said it sounds so ideal for me, and I can't believe I've had it for all this time and never used it, instead I kept buying different liquid foundations! God I'm an idiot haha. Once again, thank you so much Janina😘

Haha its okay, I just know people think liquid is the only way to go but it isn't for everybody! Let me know how it goes! No, cakey shouldn't happen. That usually comes from the talc in most products. I'm pretty sure the foundation you'll be trying has only 5 ingredients... I mean, come on! lol. Just keep in mind, everything Bare minerals is LESS IS MORE. Use too much and you can't blend it ( that is the only way this will look cakey). If the original doesn't work out as well, definitely go to a boutique or Sephora/Ulta if you can't get to a boutique near you. Try a sample if you don't want to buy it right away? But I think this will help a lot. Oh! And, if you don't mind me asking, what is your skincare routine like? That could be part of what is contributing to your oilyness. Anytime love :)
