Try a bb or cc cream! They have a moisturizing base so it should moisturizer your skin while covering! Try the garnier bb cream, smashbox bb cream, dr.jart , UD naked tinted moisturizer, Laura mercier tinted moisturizer or the covergirl bb smoothers!

First use a green concealer...yes I said green lol...but just a little...and then apply some foundation and regular colored concealer. make sure you don't cake it on over the dry skin otherwise it will look worse.

Following this thread. I use NYX concealer in a jar , I use it under my eyes, when I need it and it works well as well as looks very natural. I highly suggest CeraVe as a moisturizer, it's so hydrating and it helps so much!

Well first I would focus on skincare (:
exfoliate once, maybe twice a week to help remove that dead, flakey akin that shows through foundation. & moooisturize! in the morning & at night before you go to bed.
as for foundation, I really really like the NARS Sheer Glow. it's formulated for people with dry akin. it gives you a really nice, natural looking glow without making you look oily. I use it & looove it. so much. I also use the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. very good products!

Covergirl aqua hydrating smoothers is amazing, and very cheap. After all or the foundations I've ever tried (super high end-drugstore) it's my favorite.

I got rid of my dry skin problems by moisturizing well, exfoliating each time I take a shower and using the genifique serum from Lancome.

Proper skin care prep like the ladies mention is a big factor. If a bead/physical exfoliant isn't doing much to help with dry patches, a chemical exfoliant can definitely help.
The Embryolisse moisturizer Jacqueline mentioned is amazing as a primer. I don't recommend it for Acne or comedogenic prone skin unless used on special occassions or sparingly.
Incorporating an oil into your skin care routine can also help. I use oils considered non comedogenic or mildly comdogenic. (Argan, Sqaulane, Jojob, Rosehip, Maracuja.)
For Foundations I love my RCMA palette, but that's a bit more complicated.. Make Up Forevers Face and Body, MAC face and body, Nars Sheer glow, Laura Merciers Silk Creme Foundation ( Full coverage ) are all great choices. For concealer Make Up Forevers full coverage concealer in the tube works nicely.
A setting spray over a setting powder helps as well.
