Ok so I have been biting my nails for a number of years. They are really disgusting and I am nearly 14. I have tried everything - from the revolting nail stuff to fake nails and nothing works! Do you have any suggestions that could help me to stop biting? Thanks, I really appreciate it!

I was the same as you but I got to 18 before I realised how gross it was. I used Sally hansens nail hardener and miracle growth polish (in a gold bottle). I also put a lose rubber band on my wrist and snapped myself whenever I bit my nails. It doesn't hurt that much or leave marks but it teaches you not to do it.

Acrylics really saved me maybe try wearing them longer it took me a while before I didn't need to wear them anymore

Keep them polished! Eating polish can be toxic! I'm sure you wouldn't do it if you knew you were poisoning yourself.

Try a transparent nail varnish, you can wear it all the time and it tastes revolting. I've been there done that.

What helped me was always having nail polish on. I couldn't stand ruining my nails more than the taste of the nail polish. I always had stubby nails when I was younger then one day I stopped! Now I have the longest out of everyone I know!! So there is hope!

I have the same problem because I hate the feel of nail clippers. I always pick at my toenails does anyone have any tips on my toes? They look really scabby.
