Good Morning Dolls😘😘,
So yesterday I went to Sephora and while I was waiting in line I caved 😳 I finally picked up a little bottle of Urban Decay Primer Potion and I did a comparison with the product I'm currently using ( Mac Paint Pot in Groundwork)
Here's a swatch of the the two
I used The shadow candy violet from the chocolate bar palette which is a fabulous color but needed and extra boost.
Urbandecay & Candy Violet on top
Mac Paint Pot & Candy Violet on bottom
So the Urban Decay Primer potion is a winner!! Lol I should've got this product a long time ago. What primer do you guys use?

Oh my, I'm so excited to have this conversation because literally just the other day I picked up a Paint Pot in Painterly and I tried it for the first time today. I've ALWAYS used the UD primer potion, I got the "professional sized" one that they came out with like 5 or 6 years ago, and I'm still not out of it. So, I use that. I've occasionally used the little sample sizes of other primers, like Too Faced, Lorac, etc. But I haven't liked any of them so well as the UD, just because that's what seems to really work for me. When I use my Urban Decay, I don't have to touch up for the entire day (I actually didn't know that eye makeup touchups were a thing until I got BL, I figured people only carried around powder or something), and because I'm in college, my days can sometimes be up to 19 hours of just running around and doing things. Thus far (today is my first day of trying the Paint Pot) I do like it. It gives a nice texture to apply shadow to, and I like that it evens out the tone of my eyelids. I wouldn't say, necessarily, that it makes colors brighter or bolder, but it's reasonably nice and will probably last me for absolutely ever.

Hannah I feel like the paint pot is great for everyday looks but for those colors that are bold , shimmery, and need an extra push. Those Sephora check out lines really get to me lol.

I totally understand, trust me. I posted my haul a few days ago and honestly I didn't even realize what I grabbed until I laid it all out.
I know what you mean about the Paint Pots, they're certainly nice and it's been okay for today, but Urban Decay...wow. I can wear absolutely whatever colors I want, and nothing happens throughout the day, the colors stay bright (I think, possibly, that with the Paint Pots, because they bring in their own colors, they can affect the colors you put on top of them.)

I have really oily lids and it really works for me as well! I've tried to prime with a shadow stick, and even different concealers but nope this is Probably the one thing I will forever repurchase, even my mom who has never used primers and hates UD fell in love with this product.
Also, I thought the Mac paint pots where just bases? Like to be used on top of primers to even out the lid color, not to be used as a primer:0

Andrea, they are, but they also function sort of like primers (in my one experience...I'm so reliable, lol). They give you a smooth, clean surface to work with, much like primers, even though longevity is not the exact purpose of the Paint Pots, it's a rather nice side effect. It's been 6 hours since I did my makeup, and it's still holding up nicely!

Lol you're funny Hannah x) do you think they are worth it? Been wanting to get one but I always end up going in for something and coming out with another thing haha I just don't want to spend the money on something I won't get much use of you know?

Well, here's my feeling towards the whole thing: if you have something that works for you, and that you really really like, why change it? The only reason I decided to pick this up is because I'm a junkie, and I like seeing if there are things better than what I already have. With things like concealer, eye primer, mascara, foundation, I don't really see the point in having a ton of different kinds (not that I don't have a million of every product ever made, but, like I said, ADDICT), especially if you're not a professional. Maybe if you run out of your UD, you could pick up a Paint Pot? Or, if you just really want to try it, why not? Mac gives out free samples, so I'm sure you could try it that way =)

I've been really wanting to try the UD primer potion, but currently I'm using too faced's primer, which I like quite a bit. I've also used bare minerals prime time and liked that a lot too.
