So I'm getting my hair color touched up tomorrow, is it best to go with clean dry hair that has absolutely no product? Or does it not matter?

I always go with cleanish hair of that makes sense... like usually I get my hair done on Saturdays and would have washed it on the Thursday. I try to keep putting product in my hair to a minimum not that I use alot in the first place
