Hi girls! Basically whenever I try to do a half up half down ponytail, it always looks really flat and horrible on my head. I would like to know how I can make the half ponytail look like a normal ponytail would which doesn't sit flatly. If this is confusing then I want it to look like how Ariana Grande has it. Any tips?

You can tease it or add a Volumizing powder.

Teasing the top will help. Also, when you put the top in a ponytail, separate that top into two, and then sort of 'pull' both sides away from each other, like you're pulling them up and tightening the ponytail.

You need to take more hair on the top section instead of leaving more hair to sit loose you need to make the ponytail look bigger by doing that and just before you do that you can tease your crown a little and when you have your ponytail you mess around with it to make it look bigger you also have to curl your hair in waves at least and tease the loose hairs on the bottom this is how I do it and it comes out nicely, you can Also watch tutorials on YouTube that will help you.

I'd use a volumizing dry shampoo.

You could use a "bump" type thing!
