I recently tried using a foundation brush to apply liquid foundation. I loved the results but am a little icked out by the cleanliness factor. Do you clean the brush after each use? Anybody recommend certain cleansers?

I wipe my brushes after each use. then every 2 weeks do a good cleaning, using the solid brush cleaner from Japonesque. not everyone likes the smell of it, I don't mind it. Really does a great job cleaning. oh, and I use Wayne Goss brushes. Hope this helps! xo.

I wipe mine clean after every use with Sephora's daily brush cleaner. The new formula is oilier but I wipe it well on a paper towel and let it dry.

The first brush cleaner I used was from Sephora and it was ok. I didn't know how much better it could be until I got MUFE brush cleaner. It's oily but not in a bad way, it really cleans my brushes so much better. I do spray them and wipe them after each use. I wash them in baby shampoo once every two weeks.

Thanks everybody! I use an inexpensive, tapered foundation brush from Eco tools. I'm thinking of investing in a flat bottom foundation brush though.

I take a tissue and spritz it with spray cleaner (I like Sonia Kashuk brush cleaner or Parisian Spirit). On the tissue, not the brush. Then I roll my brush in the damp tissue. Because of the alcohol content, the brush dries quickly and there is less buildup on the brush when I do my weekly deep cleaning. I clean all my brushes weekly with baby shampoo and set them on the counter flat to dry. Don't every dry them upright as the water can seep into the ferrel and damage the glue that holds it together.
