I asked her "Darker red hair, (like natural red, not fire engine red) NO brown"
So what happens... It comes out BLACK!! So she felt bad and gave me some stuff that I mix w/ 30 volume that'll lighten it a little & gave me the correct color.
My Question Is... when can I fix this? will it go to the correct color I want, since it's so dark?? Thanks in advance!!
This is what it looks like..and the red is what I want.

I honestly don't think it'll come out that color with the stuff she gave you. I think you'll have to go back. Or just end up doing it yourself.

It's odd she gave you stuff to do instead of scheduling a date to fix it for you. I'd call the salon, explain the situation and say you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself and ask when (not if, it'll make them more likely to say yes) they can schedule you a new appointment to fix it.

It's totally unprofessional. I know it can feel uncomfortable to be "demanding" but call, say when you had your hair done, that the stylist failed to do what you wanted and admitted it by giving you the stuff to fix it and that you don't know how to do it and want it professionally fixed. Then remind them when it was dyed and ask when the soonest you can come in and safely redye. If they refuse write a detailed (but not angry) yelp review - businesses hate bad press and often will publicly reply to seem more appealing to potential customers.

I agree with Jack. If you were clear on what you wanted, she should've done what you wanted. Black is not red, nor is brown. She did it wrong, and she needs to fix it, it's her job.

Okay I agree she needs to fix it but honestly I would go to someone else because if she didn't do a simple hair color right the first time and was unprofessional by not fixing it, then how is she going to be at fixing it? I wouldn't try to do anything yourself and just go somewhere else to get it fixed.

Also I don't think you need to wait a certain amount of time before you redye if worried about damaging it, as long as you go to someone who knows what they are doing it should be fine.

That's ridiculous. I'm sure you went through this. This is why I do my own hair. lol.

I'd call the salon like all the other girls and say who was your colorist and tell them what happened and ask for a fix from another employee. Because like Lisa said she screwed up once, do you trust her? I wouldn't.

Haha yeah this was like the first time in a loooong time I went to someone. and this is what happens lol I really don't have money to pay someone else, but I'll definitely do it!!

Yeah I'd ask for another employee. You could also request a refund and go somewhere else. I work for a salon and when someone is unhappy with their hair we refund them and fix it on the house.

You shouldn't have to pay to have it fixed. I went to get my roots touched up abs the lady bleached them and toned my head. How was I too know she toned it until the conditioner smelled funny...

I don't think you'll damage your hair as long as you aren't going to try and bleach it at home. I color my hair at home and have great results with John Frieda's Foam Color. I would try the similar shade you wanted and it may not be that exact red because of how dark it is now, but you could lighten it up and then wait a few weeks try again (or go to someone then) and it hopefully should be that desired color or very close to it.

Here are some of the John Frieda. I think the "Light Golden Brown" might be good to try at first. I used to use this same color a lot and its pretty reddish actually because its called "golden".
