I have oily skin but in the winter, my chin gets a little dry and the skin gets flakey. So when I put my foundation on, you can see it get flakey:( I try to moisturize a little extra on my chin but what else can I do to take away the flakey-ness?

Exfoliate. Whether it be a diy method, a gentle exfoliating cleanser, or exfoliating pads, you need something to peel off any dead skin. You're basically just putting moisture onto dead skin cells.

If your skin is actually oily and you experience the dryness only during the winter it's actually dehydration. dry is a skin type, from genetics and can only be managed not changed. dehydration is a condition, usually caused by external factors like the wind, cold, etc. Dehydration can be changed along with other skin conditions. Make sure the products you are using are pH balanced. your skin should be at a level of 4.5 to 5.5. when products are used that aren't they strip the skins acid mantle which is the skins protective layer. when this happens the skin is usually more susceptible to damage and environmental factors being harsher on the skin. My skin gets dehydrated in the winter and I use all Dermalogica products which are pH balanced and their barrier repair cream which acts as a barrier to environmental factors and helps with my redness and eczema. To quickly get 'rid' of the flakiness I agree to exfoliate but you do want to treat and figure out why you are getting the flakiness and make sure you are using the right products

Sorry I'm exhausted.. dehydration is caused by external AND internal factors. re read that and realized what I wrote, was kind of rambling and not paying attention lol. your skin can just be dehydrated like it would be if your body was, lack of water.

This happens to me too! Keep using extra moisturizer on the flakey spots, and also use primer, and most of it on the flakey spots, it helps incredibly!

Maracuja oil! Also known as passion fruit seed oil. I use 2 drops and work into my problem areas. But also exfoliation which can either be physical or chemical. Don't go too hard or you will damage your skin.
