Which would you suggest? Kevin Aucoin candelight or Hourglass Ambient powder?

Well, the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders, while they seem to be purchased by a lot of people as highlighters, are actually allover finishing powders with the intent to make your skin appear to be in that specific kind of lighting. You're supposed to use them with a light hand all over your face, as opposed to as a highlight. I think it would be better to get the Kevyn Aucoin, simply because it actually is a highlighter and will have a bit more pigment to it (to give a really nice highlight). =)

Happy Chanukah! :) I think you can also ask Alma and Jackie, they both have real experience with the Kevyn Aucoin (I just happen to like Hourglass, which is why I know what I know)

Thank you for the better explanation, Jackie =) I just find that the Ambient Lighting powders work well for all over the face.

Kevyn Aucoin Candlelight is my HG highlighter. But because I'm a highlight junkie, I have others. The Becca highlighters are gorgeous, opal, moonstone. They come in powder form. One that really surprised me was Revlon Skinlights in Bare Light. It's liquid so it can also be used as a luminizer- I sometimes mix it with my foundation. But it's also very subtle and pretty on the tops of the cheekbones for a soft highlight. And I typically like powders, but liked this one a lot.

HG has a mix of all over powder within the Ambient line and then some that can only be used as a highlighter. I have several from both HG and I have KA and I have to say that as far as highlighters go...KA gets it hands down. Just have to be very light handed with it because it can go disco ball on you real quick. While I love my HG I must bow down to the true king of highlighters.

KA to highlight certain areas Sandy T. All-over use I've never tried though its more finely milled than the HG Ambient Lighting powders.

I would say candlelight for an actual highlight as the hourglass powders are really finishing powders
